60 Prescriptions for Healthy Living

We are spiritual beings enjoying a human experience. If we're to experience inner peace, health, abundance and love we must take care of and give to ourselves on all levelsmind, body and spirit. No matter how much another adores you, it's not their job to make sure you're living your highest and best life. It's yours.  Fortunately, God has blessed each of us with everything that we need to create a life we can love, one that shines with meaning and bubbles over with love and abundance. We need only claim it. With each new day comes another opportunity to renew and deepen our commitment to extreme self care. Believe me when I tell you, you so deserve your own time and attention!

Below are what I call prescriptions for living a healthy, whole, joy filled and peaceful life. Every week commit to doing at least three new things from the list and notice how delicious and empowered you feel. ~ In joy! DeBora

  1. eat your vegetables
  2. take supplements 
  3. count your blessings daily
  4. drink lots of pure water 
  5. forgive your family...for they truly know not what they do
  6. forgive yourself
  7. before your knees are in the air, know his HIV status
  8. MOVE that lovely bodysalsa, swing dance, swim, strut your stuff on a treadmill 
  9. remember an apple, orange, peach, or pear a day keep the doctor away
  10. travel
  11. trust your intuition
  12. seek balance
  13. create meaning
  14. take risks...but not with your health
  15. read interesting books
  16. read spiritually uplifting books and material
  17. laugh, love, live like there's no tomorrow
  18. surround yourself with loving and supportive people
  19. connect with a spiritual community that loves, supports, uplifts you 
  20. journal often
  21. know your HIV status, get tested
  22. don't think you can tell a man's HIV status by how he looks, you can't
  23. tend to your relationship with God, daily
  24. stand by your inner man
  25. pray
  26. meditate, meditate, meditate
  27. don't eat because you're lonely, bored, sad, scared, pissed, rejected or happy 
  28. journal, pray, sit in the silence, talk to God, confide in a friend when you're lonely, bored, sad, scared, pissed, rejected or happy
  29. get out into the morning air, it will lift your spirit and clear your mind
  30. walk in nature, hug a tree
  31. forgive yourself for everything you imagine you've done wrong
  32. don't smoke, it ages the skin and can put you in a early grave
  33. live with passion, purpose and power
  34. you give you life's green lights 
  35. let 'em talk, DO YOU!
  36. dare to shine 
  37. approve of yourself
  38. judge not
  39. cultivate an attitude of gratitude
  40. be the parent you wish you had, to yourself then to your child(ren)
  41. be the woman you hope your daughter(s) will be
  42. love your daughter(s), raise your son(s)
  43. tell someone you love them
  44. lift weights
  45. embrace your power
  46. pay yourself first, save 10% or more of your income
  47. tithe to the entity or person(s) that grow you spiritually
  48. give thanks for EVERYTHING
  49. don't settle just to avoid being alone
  50. practice safe sex, self pleasure
  51. let no one disrespect you, not even you
  52. tell yourself the truth
  53. breathe deeply
  54. speak your heart and head, even if your knees shake
  55. eat fast food in moderation, or not at all
  56. teach people how to treat you well
  57. mix and mingle with other cultures/races
  58. help somebody today
  59. feel the fear...and do it anyway
  60. compare yourself to no one, you are one of a kind!
